Solitaire rings are the ultimate classic for engagement rings. But not every solitaire is the same. Subtle design elements can completely change the character of a ring. Case in point—we just launched three new solitaire engagement ring designs! Explore the new looks below.
CLAW PRONG SOLITAIRES
These solitaires were designed to give you a simple, customizable look. Our designers started by basing this collection on elements of our most popular rings, such as the claw prongs in the Prague ring, and the simple peg head setting from our Tapered Classic Solitaire rings. The new Claw Prong Solitaires come with either a Round Brilliant cut or Princess cut Nexus Diamond alternative.
What makes this style different is that you get to choose your metal types for the band and the setting separately. Want rose gold prongs and a yellow gold band? Done. Love white gold prongs and a rose gold band? Gorgeous. Prefer all yellow gold? Lovely.
This is possible because this design is a peg head style ring. That means the band is made separately from the setting, rather than as one integrated piece. Our designers took this into consideration and created subtle cathedral shoulders on the shank, which means the band rises up around the setting to create a smooth integrated look and protect the setting.
CATHEDRAL SOLITAIRES
These ultra-classic rings are an updated version of the First Love engagement ring. It’s now available with more stone shapes and carat weights, including Round Brilliant, Cushion, Princess and Emerald cut. This is a no-frills design that is intended to be timeless.
Like the Claw Prong Solitaires, it is a peg head design. The cathedral-style shoulders of the band flow up on either side of the setting, which makes it more comfortable because it feels lower profile on the hand. The cathedral shoulders also help protect the setting from inevitable knocks and bumps.
Note that the prongs of these rings are always white gold, even if you select rose or yellow gold for the band. White gold prongs blend in with the colorless Nexus Diamond alternative and blend seamlessly into the design.
IVY SOLITAIRE
The new Ivy Solitaire is perfect for an active woman who loves the outdoors. The lower profile design and subtle leaf motif make this new solitaire uniquely beautiful and yet sturdy.
The designers used a subtle metalwork leaf-and-vine element in the split band design. The effect is of a flower blooming on a branch—but instead it is a Nexus Diamond alternative rather than a bloom. It is a low-profile design with the setting integrated into the band. This makes it quite sturdy and ideal for an outdoorsy woman who works with her hands a lot.
Though the Ivy does not have a matching band, this is a perfect opportunity to work with our custom design studio to create a nature-inspired band that will complement this engagement ring.
